GLAM’S IN!

Glam girl Elissa’s the face of the i450, which makes for a great start. First impressions of The Impulz are great, it sports, for Samsung, a rare dual slider and Symbian OS 9.2 to boot.

The good, the bad
Think flagship music phone, and you demand interface, connectivity and of course sound quality, apart from the packaging. The Impulz’s got all these in plenty, though its attempts to be an all-around multimedia contender are thwarted by a seriously unawesome 2.0 MP camera, think blurry images that make for Don’t-Drink-and-Drive campaigns.

The “piece de resistance”
It might well remind you of a certain Mr J, but then again, admit it, the i450’s touch flywheel is its biggest trump card. While it may take a bit getting used to, and both hands are a must for operating the touchwheel, once you’re into navigating the very colorful, well spaced-out multimedia menu on the 2.4” screen, there’s no letting go. Three of Elissa’s tracks come with the phone, which give you an ample feel of this phone’s audio prowess. Sharp and packing quite some bass, a special jury mention to the B&O touch, if you please.  For calls too, the big keys ensure few mistakes and are a messagers delight, while the Google key is a definitive for when you get online. Of course, we could have done with a more rigid phone, but then again, the headphone jack is non-proprietary, beat that.

Love Battery. Touch Flywheel. Great Sound.
Hate Fragile. Tragic Camera.
We say Flagship it most definitely is 4 stars
