BMW bikes have got cooler over the last few years and there’s no Bimmer cooler than the HP2. The first thing that springs to mind when you say HP is either brown sauce, or Hire Purchase, but here it stands for High Performance – mega attitude and more than 100bhp.
BMW has made this bike an ‘extreme’ off-roader – it’s even notched up several rally-raid and off-road wins. All the components are high-end and lightweight and it features a race-derived chassis and suspension components.
Who cares if the HP2 will see less dirt than a 4X4 on a school run, and who cares that the headlight looks like it’s been nicked from an old Cortina? There are hardly any on the roads, so we love it.
Love It’s big, mad and bad. It’s also rarer than the lesser-spotted rainbow dodo.
Hate Color scheme looks a little Halfords. We’re not too sure about that headlight.
We say An extreme off-road bike packed with limited-edition cool and kudos in spades. A classic two-wheeled Beemer.Engine 1,200cc, two-cylinder
Power 105bhp
WEIGHT 175 kilos
EXTRAS Buy the optional 17-inch road wheels and you’ve got yourself a supermoto – two bikes for the price of one. |
