WHAT’S THE CONCEPT?
Jack Stanfield (Ford) is a trusted, top-ranking computer specialist that enjoys a solid career at Seattle-based Landrock Pacific Bank, and it’s getting better. He’s invested good time and effort into securing the bank from a constant threat of increasingly sophisticated internet hackers by designing the most effective anti-theft computer system in the industry. But while this has won him a lot of respect in the business, what Jack doesn’t know is that it’s done very little in securing him and his entire family from that same threat, at home.
WHAT’S IT LIKE?
He’s a direct target, and that’s where the alarm starts blinking. Jack has solved one end of the problem, and while that was happening, he also managed to become part of the problem. Bill Cox (Bettany) is a sinister hacker-man who has been studying Jack and his family for nearly a year now, and the plot thickens.
WORTH WATCHING?
By monitoring their online activity, and listening in on all their calls, Cox is able to track their daily lives, and cook up an evil ploy which becomes the build-up of the movie. Firewall is a cat-and-mouse story line that’ll keep you on your toes, as you experience intense levels of paranoia that are being bred from the evil protagonists of the information revolution, and brought into the home of an honest, hard working man’s life. |
